Anyone been up to Corrour/Dalwhinnie recently?

A mate and I are looking at hiking from Corrour Station to Dalwhinnie over a weekend in a couple of weeks.

Neither of us are really kitted out for snow and ice (Crampons Ice axes) although have plenty of thermals.

I've been keeping an eye on the forecast and there doesn't appear to have been much snow.

We won't be going up any hills (We both prefer long distance hikes)

Just after a 1st hand opinion if it's a goer or if we should look at somewhere else

There is no snow at all at lower levels currently - it's very mild. It could all change by then of course :)

Thanks Paul,

I've got my eye on the 10 day forecast, looks reasonable so far

Looks like the first planned hike of 2013 will be a goer

I walked from Spean Bridge to Rannoch last year via Corrour, was a lovely weekend, well except for going arse over tit near the old Corrour lodge, twisting my ankle and having to hobble all the way to Rannoch, where I couldn't even go for a pint once I got there
