As of last Saturday northern and western facing slopes, which would be the route you are describing, were still completely plastered around the Glen Shee area and above 750m there was still significant snow coverage on all aspects. When i say significant I mean widespread as opposed to deep, if you were off steep ground the walking was easy going although axes were required to get up the steep slopes on An Socach.
Having said that Sunday saw a huge amount of melt water in the burns and rivers around the area.
As i said it is now a week since I have been up there so someone might have more up to date information but I would have thought it would be wise to have some ironwork with you for the descent from Creag Leachachd. There should be a SAIS forecast issued at some point today for the Southern Cairngorms, that might give you an idea.
