Controversial Confessions

Controversial Confessions

Postby NickyRannoch » Wed Jun 05, 2013 8:41 pm

Thought i would start a thread where people can post their controversial confessions in a safe, non-judgemental environment without risk of an ice axe to the head or a size 12 toecapped scarpa up the backside. I'll start and hope others follow otherwise these just seem like the thoughts of a mad man. Please take in the humour in which they are intended

1.) I dont mind windfarms
2.) Knoydart is well over-rated. It is not a wilderness, it is busy, wet and tbh the scenery is no better than you would find anywhere else between plockton and oban.
3.) Cameron McNeish is growing on me

1) I've had more outdoor number 2s than is natural

2) I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die

1) I don't own crampons and never plan to. I will walk in snow regardless.

2) I occasionally leave teabags hidden behind rocks or fling them into the bush.

3) I wave / say hello to EVERYONE I pass on the hills and mentally swear at those who don't do the same back.

I can see this being the most popular thread on WH within a very short space of time!!

Just trying to decide which of my own confessions are publishable online! Watch this space...

My sense of direction is pants. I can’t find my arse in the bath with a map. Fact.

I spend £7.99 a pop on an OS Explorer sheet, and for all the sense I can make of it, the bloody thing might as well be written in Sanskrit. I SO wish I’d paid more attention in ‘O’ Grade geography. :-?

How I've returned safely from so many solo Winter traipses on the hills is beyond me.

I really do have an ice axe, it's not very good for chopping up the firewood though, probably needs sharpening :o

I am looking forward to retiring so I can drive really slowly & hold up other motorists rushing to go hillwalking

I did the Fairfield horseshoe on Sunday...and finished in Patterdale
I'll have to do my first walk proper walk report I think...Circles strikes again!

I'm also currently working on the technology to harness WH Forum bluster with the hope it could eventually replace wind farms...
