I apologise if this thread has been done before but as it was Hill-loving lady's 100th munro last weekend, thought I would ask on what hill did you complete your 100th munro? and was there any particular reason for chosing it? My 100th was Ben Cruachan, and a fine horseshoe traverse it was, a great day out!

Mine was Meall a'Bhuiridh. No particular significance other than I had the day off, it wasn't too far away and could get out on my own up a hill.

Meall a’Bhuiridh (with Criese) was my 99th in August '94. I then had a long wait for my next Scotland trip in May '95 before ticking off my 100th Munro - MAYER (with Driesh).

I hope to be on my 100th Munro this June. If all goes well it will be Ben Alder. Because it is such an imposing and remote hill

I'd have to look it up.....didn't pay attention at the time.
Why would the number 100 be more important than number 95 or 121 (or 282)?

It was Sgorr Ruadh in Torridon during a Walkhighland Meet last year....it was a great way to celebrate 100!!

That's a good enough reason for heading on up and reaching a milestone!

Most probably Sgurr Mor on Beinn Alligin, although my counting was a little vague back then. Nice weather everywhere except on Beinn Allligin. Not much point making a big deal of round numbers - disappointment will probably follow when it turns out to be a miserable day.

That's a good circuit to include in your 100th Munro, a day like that makes it all the more memorable

Excellent stuff! It's such a big effort for you guys South of the Border. I guess we are so very lucky having them on our doorstep. Mayar and Driesh are the nearest munros to where I stay, so have Ben up many times, the last time with my Grandson
