There’s a chap who lives in a wee village just outside Dunfermline called Oakley. His back garden backs onto the A907 road from Dunfermline to Stirling. At the bottom of his garden, this guy has a proper flagpole. Whenever England are playing at the WC or a Euro Championships and Scotland aren’t (which, let’s face it, is every two years these days
), this guy flies the flags of England’s group stage opponents.
He’s renowned / notorious locally.
The local newspaper does a piece about him every time the WC comes round. I think he must have ‘issues’, but I’m relatively confident he’ll be voting Yes on 18th September.
