G'day, all! I and my family are planning a week or so on Skye (from the US), and while we're all pretty enthusiastic walkers, one of us (me  ) doesn't really have much of a head for heights. Can you recommend a good peak or peaks to climb in the Cuillins for such as me? Strenuous is OK, good view is a must, and lack of exposure would be most welcome.

Hi

I've done most of the Cuillin peaks and have always been the most scared of heights out of the group of friends I go with. Personally I think Blaven is the least exposed (going the route described on this website). However Bruach na Frithe is usually cited as the easiest (my mates took me up an unecessary scramble so I guess if you follow the main path it has no difficulties) - I also found Sgurr na Bannadich pretty straightforward.

I find I'm more likely to have a brown pants moment if its windy so if you can you start your Cuillin adventure on a fine day all the better. Some of my friends have hired a guide for the day - which I think was quite cheap between them) and were able to do things they wouldn't have attempted on there own.

Have fun on the hills! 8)
