2015 Plans?

Re: 2015 Plans?

My target for the year is suitably elusive/ attainable- 57 Munros left. if I get round them all, I'll have had a busy year. The journey is the fun bit though, if I don't reach my target, I'll continue to enjoy the views and company along the way. All the best folks.

Retire in order to get out more ????? but that is not an option I am FAR too young. So current ambition is to pass the 141 munros, should be easy as only 5 to go, and have an epic in Knoydart and the Rough Bounds without being eaten by midges and ticks.

Hopeful plan: to have a chance to get the crampons on at least once before the sparse English snow disappears.

Then there's plenty to do in Scotland for spring and summer, including Mull, Skye and Glen Coe.

I love reading about everyone's aims, it's inspiring.

I haven't got my plans off to a great start today... stayed in a warm bed rather than go out in a freezing wind to hillwalk. I will hang my head in shame (but next to the radiator)!

I was talking about this yesterday...

This time last year, I had very clear goals, most of which I achieved minus one hill.

This year I have no real idea.
Lots of maybes
- An Teallach repeat
- weekend in Arran
- cuillin traverse
- rum cuillin visit
- fisherfield/knoydart repeats with some wee hills
- assynt week?
- Affric return (maybe more than a maybe)
- lewis/harris/St Kilda return
-tower ridge return
-CMD/AE winter returns
-Beinn Alligin return
-cycle up the bealach na
-clach ghlas traverse

I think that's enough to be getting on with.

Maybe some wee hills and some nice repeats too.

Chances are likely to be more limited again this year than I would ideally like. Main target (numbers wise) would be to get to 183 Munros (i.e. under 100 to go). This would entail the same number of new Munros as I managed this year. The focus will probabaly be on routes that combine multiple Munros . My jaunt to Brattleburn later this month should hopefully see me double my Donald count and it would be nice to get to a point where I could see myself hitting 100 Corbetts in 2016.

Nothing really specific, other than getting out a bit more over the summer than I managed this year.

Would like to get up to either Torridon or Skye and do some walking in that area. Would also like to do Buchaille Etive Mor, and perhaps the Anoch Egach ridge too.

Fortunately I've got plenty of munros still left to choose from, but it'd be nice to get closer to 50 by the end of the year.

Would like to finish 2015 with less then 100 Munro's to finish, that means 62 this year. didn't get as much done last year due to probs getting time off from work. Off to Skye in May to do Cuillins with others from WH, really looking forward to it.

Also want to complete the Great North Run (half marathon) in under 2 hours in October.

Got a list of easyish walks to try, much like 2014. Used to enjoy a scramble but that was out of the question in 2014 so substituted with cliff edges where I could.

I set myself a target to get to 200 Munros and 100 Corbetts by the end of 2016, so reaching 180 M's this year would be nice.

Lots of plans and a long wish list. And as it usually turns out, I'll probably climb different mountains than planned
Missed AE last year so it's the obvious target for the coming summer. I'm also hoping to visit Foinaven and return to Skye for some scrambling adventures...

No great plans or targets for 2015, other than to keep hitting my average of 30 Munros or thereabouts for the year. I’m keen to do the Big Four in the Cairngorms in mid-Summer: Cairn Toul, Devils Point, Angels Peak and Braeriach. Having been tantalisingly close on 2-3 occasions in 2014, it’s a challenge I just HAVE TO take on this year. :D

Other hills I’m looking to do this year include: Ben Nevis via the CMD; Beinn Eighe; Ben More Assynt and Conival, and Ben Klibreck. Oh, and Carn a’ Chlamain WITHOUT requiring treatment at A&E afterwards.

If I’m sitting at 140 ticks by end of the year I’ll be a happy puppy.

I am aiming for the half way point for my Munros. by Dec 2015 - when I will be 60. I am trying to spend time with old friends and new friends to enjoy myself :D
Fisherfield and Knoydart hopefully will be visited and many other wild and wonderful places.
I must pluck up courage and come on a meet and find some new walking companions. I have a lot of spare time ( not sure if I am retired or unemployed!!)
I would also like some winter trips.

All good!
