The Scottish mountains really must do better.....

This is hilarious reading but it also makes me glad in a way. Imagine how awful it would be if the mountains were as popular as a shopping centre on a Saturday.... Anyone who's tried to climb Snowdon on a sunny weekend recently will know what I mean. I think we should actively encourage bad tripadvisor reviewz for all mountains :)

lots of mind bleach seems to have been applied - I'm sure the comments at the time were more vicious.

Yes, the mountains are indeed a kind of casino.

Apparently, Skiddaw needs a total revamp:

https://www.lancs.live/whats-on/whats-on-news/woman-brands-lake-district-mountain-23008019

"Ascending to the summit of Skiddaw is an exhausting experience on the basis that the only means to get up there is to walk. It is just too high and too steep for most people. How can the Lake District National Park people expect people to go up there? Be warned that ... THERE ARE NO FACILITIES AT THE SUMMIT. If you actually make it to the summit and then need the toilet then that is just too bad!!"

If I visit Skiddaw, I will carry my own potty

Recently, my friends and I often began to go hiking, I love the mountain air. We did not go through many mountains in Scotland, we mostly go to the same ones. During our trips, I started playing in an online casino as it is a good time killer. Now I'm playing at Caxino Casino, which I read about on one site. Rest between lifts has become more fun, so I do not regret it. Mostly we relax with friends, but sometimes you just need to sit silently and that's when this entertainment comes to my rescue. As for me, our mountains are quite pleasant. I really enjoy our trips.

That Ben Lomond one taking over 12 hours to get up and down, that is probably going to be like me climbing the Devils Point, Cairn Toul and Sgurn a Lochan Uaine from Linn of Dee in June this year (subject to good weather). The sort of route that will be fantastic but exhausting.

With Snowdon, there are several routes up, and I once climbed it using the Watkin path. Whilst the summit was busy and clouded over, the route up was very quiet and scenic.

In fairness to the Arthur's Seat reviewers I reckon it would benefit from taking a leaf out of Vesuvius' book and selling cheap local plonk at the top.

Just have to figure out how to grow grapes in Scotland.

I go up Arthur's Seat quite a lot. I love it. It's a good test of the legs if you set out to reach the top without stopping and on a clear day the view is very satisfying. I'm surprised there are not more accidents. The rocky and precipitous summit needs care. The people walking up Arthur's Seat are not generally experienced hill walkers. The scope for a slip or fall seems quite high, but there are mercifully few accidents.

Grapes are grown in Scotland, mainly under glass, but some outdoors. Attempts at wine making by Scottish growers have not been overly successful I believe (see Chateau Largo). However, with climate change who knows?

Although there was that incident last summer when someone launched their partner off the top! Stone deid!
