Accommodation advice.

Postby Armstrong1869 » Sun Jul 05, 2015 7:29 pm

I'm looking to book a cottage and spend a week away Munro bagging and I would be thankful for any advice on where the best area would be or even any recommendations on cottages.

I live in South Ayrshire so it's about an hour and a half drive until I start getting in to Munro territory so it would be nice to spend a week somewhere like Glencoe or the Cairngorms.

Thanks!

My first week of Munro bagging was last year from Braemar - hired Castleton Cottage - for two - lovely base - and walked the 10 munros either side of the road at GlenShee, The lochnagar 5, Dreish and Mayar in 4 days.....a great start for me.
Would recommend as they are all quite straightforward

Fort William is a good base, as it is surrounded by hills, and a relatively short drive from many other hill areas like Glen Coe, Knoydart, Ardnamurchan, Loch Ness, even Skye is a day trip. There is an excellent place, the Linnhe Lochside Holiday Park , which has lots of accommodation and beautiful views up Loch Eil, try this link; http://www.linnhe-lochside-holidays.co.uk
