Bad weather

Postby Paul Webster » Fri Jun 22, 2007 7:47 pm

We'll try to keep the fine weather for you - it hasn't rained for weeks 8)

I would say if the weather wasn't good and you wanted still to visit the Quiraing and the Storr, the best thing would not be to follow the Skyewalk route on either of them. The routes described head up to the summits which would be pointless in bad weather.

A better idea would be to do two much shorter walks, following the Storr path as described but only as far as the Old Man before returning, and then on the Quiraing following the path used on the return walk (as described on this site) as far as the slope below the Needle, and then returning. That way you have good paths throughout, two very short walks and you get to see the best of the rock scenery without going to the exposed/misty summits.

But probably it will be sunny!
