I climbed Ben Macdui yesterday and there were loads of people ski-touring - seemingly effortlessly up to the top - compared to me anyway.

Ski touring is brilliant fun, though it does need both good snow and reasonable weather at the same time!
Since you can already ski and are happy in the hills in winter, the extra bit (using skins etc.) can be learned in a day or so. Unfortunately the gear is fairly expensive, but there a couple of the shops in Aviemore do rental.

A project for next year jmarkb.

I actually had ski boots with me too......it would never have occurred to me to use them to climb Munros though
