haha cant say iv used anything that works to be honest, they seem to love me too. Only thing i found that worked is to keep moving haha, also iv never had a problem on the hils with them only when down in the valleys and glen's.

Hey Mountain tortoise, i think you must have been lucky on Skye, im just back this morning from there, I was camping at the campsite at Glen brittle and it rained from about 9 last night till 8 this morning and when i got out my tent the wind had stopped along with the rain and the place was thick with them, packing up was nightmare, if i stood still i leterally had hundreds on my face and hands, and when i looked at my nephews hat it was moving with a living midge carpet!!!!

I got mauled yesterday on Buachaille Etive Mor and you cant swat them away when your dangling off rock with a rope! It was very still and humid. Even on the summit of the Buachaille they were ferocious.
