Great thread :) One of my favourite things about Scottish mountains is their names

An Teallach and Schiehallion both have great names I reckon, with Braeriach an honourable third.

All my favourites have been taken Sgurr a Mhaoraich, Eididh clach nan Geala and Schiehallion.

There is also something satisfying about going the other way. I just like Driesh.

Schiehallion. It sounds as if you are starting off gently, climb it, and come down to earth with a final "N"

I've gotten obsessed with Beinn Chabhair, pronounced as per Walkhighlands - Beinn HOW-ar

Have always liked Trilleachain but I think I'm getting swept up with the meaning as well - Oystercatcher.

Also liked the (less intuitive) Walkhighlands pronounciation of Achalaider - Beinn Ach-AHlaidar

I like Sgurr na Lapaich pronounced Polish way (Skurna Uapa), also Sgurr na h-Ulaidh (sounds Hawayan) and An Stuc (where you can get stuck).

The one I hate most is Maoile Lunndaidh, because no matter how hard I try, I can't pronounce it

Well it just has to be Braigh Coire Chruinn-Bhalgain. Love the meaning too!

But have always had a soft spot for Braeriach.

Another vote here for A' Mhaighdean (and also for Bidean Druim nan Ramh if that's allowed).
I also like the sound of Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair - lots of bouncy syllables.

2 of my earliest Munros were A' Mharconach and Sgairneach Mhor and I love the sound of these names. Along with many others which many have mentioned.

But if I had a dog I would call it Blaven :) after the my last Skye Munro.
