Mayar summit

Mayar summit

Postby chigton » Mon Jul 04, 2016 8:48 pm

Hello,

I am currently tallying up the munros I have done and I was wondering if someone who knows the area well could confirm if this is the summit cairn on Mayar. As you can see it was a pretty bad day and the only time I have been there. For what I have seen on-line (photo included on good day, acknowledgements to walkhighlands) I am fairly sure my photo is of the summit.

Thanks

Chris

I have some additional information: the photo was taken between the Shank of Drumfollow and what I believe to be Mayar's summit. I'm not sure if there are any similar surrounding cairns acting as "way-markers" or marking other summits in the area.

Thanks again

The two photos match up very well: the fence post, some of the larger rocks and the sloping ground to the right. I'd be very confident that you were on the summit.

You're on it. As a Dundee resident I've been up there many times. I'll be mortified if it's not

it looks a good match to me although it should be said there are a number of cairns/piles along that fence line.
