Hello,
Around 1982 I got off the train at Achnashellach heading for the Corbett above Beardies bothy and found a wire bridge crossing roughly in the area of your coordinates....never been back since...so it could have been washed away. :)

I'm fairly sure that there is no bridge there. Current OS mapping shows a path down to the river at NH 011 481 but no bridge.

The last time I was there was 2003, walking the North to the Cape route, and I remember from my planning that the bridge had been lost some years before. And this [1] report from 2007 mentions there being no bridge over the Carron near the station: not very specific, but I think its the one you're referring to. Given the existence of the bridge to the east of Craig, I'd be surprised if it had been rebuilt.

Yeah, there used to be a wire bridge there, in the '90's anyway. It was particularly dodgy if I remember correctly. I think I remember Gerry saying it had been washed away, maybe 10 years later? So think its long gone...

Current print of the Cape Wrath guide states there is no bridge and the river crossing is wide and difficult in most circumstances.

Just head in from Srath Carran, there's a straight forward path most of the way.

Definitely no bridge. Used that route myself in April. There are deer fence access points either side of the river which is easily waded if the river is not in flood. The bank on the Achnnashellach side had been washed away earlier In the year but we were able to scramble up.
