Camping around Callander

Camping around Callander

Postby rhiannmiddleton » Wed Jul 27, 2016 1:19 pm

My boyfriend and I are planning on taking a camping trip on Saturday to Callander to climb Ben Ledi. I was wondering if anyone knows places to wild camp? I'm generally just looking for a spot that won't be FULL of other people, but don't mind having some company. Besides that I'm not picky really.

Any help would be great,

Thanks :D

I was up on Ben Ledi last Saturday into Sunday- I just wild camped amongst the cut down forest just at the start of the walk- plenty wood to build a nice fire.
I had considered camping down at Loch Lubnaig- but there is a camping ban down there- although I do believe there is a spot where you can camp but you probably won't be allowed a camp fire- which for me is all part of the experience.

The spot I stopped was ok- I just picked it quickly due to it being late - 1.00am and I just fancied a quiet night out in the open with a nice camp fire and was looking for somewhere to crash.

Hey thanks for the reply. That's brilliant we'll probably do the same as you... Campfires are definitely a necessity! :D :D
