Depends how good a biker you are I would think one or two sections you would need to push but if your competent then I would say at least 80% bike able

Caveat - I walked up it in the dark.

It's a fairly typical estate land rover track as far as the ruined building at the head of the glen and stays pretty much the same most of the way up Glas Tulaichean.

Hi, tawoh.

Which route are you planning to use to return from Carn an Righ to Spittal of Glenshee? The walkhighlands route...
http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/glas-tulaichean.shtml
...is circular from Dalmunzie Hotel, so the only bit where a bike would be of use is getting to that hotel from the Spittal, which involves only about 2km along the driveway. Some walkers park at the Dalmunzie Hotel anyway, so a bike would only be useful if you were returning along Glen Lochsie with an out and back route, rather than via Gleann Taitneach. On the map, the most feasible out and back route looks to be back over Glas Tulaichean. Apologies if you're already thinking of doing something like that anyway.

One of my regular hillwalking pals biked pretty much to the summit of Glas T. As Simon points out you'd have to do CaR and re-ascend Glas T, however the 4+ miles back to the hotel would be pretty quick.

There are also 2 or 3 river crossings which will be a pain in the a**e after a decent amount of rainfall.

I did these a few weeks ago. I cycled the 10km up Gleann Taitneach on a decent flat track and then bagged the 3 munros. It was great having such a lovely cycle back out to the Spittal Of Glenshee.

We did it on Saturday on the bikes, We parked at the car park just after the turn off to the hotel.
We climbed 3 and cycled up the 4x4 track to the ruined lodge, it took us 40 mins and we had to cross the river 3 times, but as it was low there was no problems, there would be if it was in spate.
We had to return via Glas T which meant a 260m ascent again. The cycle back to the car only took 20mins.
There is the old railway track but it's very boggy - not good for cycling.

Hullo, does anyone know if biking to glas tulaichean, hike to Carn an righ, then back the way you came would be quicker than walking the circular route?

A reasonable option I found was to bike from Dalmunzie Hotel up the track on east side of the river, leaving the bike at a suitable spot beneath GT, climbing it straight up the side. Then across to Carn an Righ, back to Loch nan Eun and down the river back to the bike. Only real problem was crossing the river near the Hotel - just have to lift up the bike and get wet!

Or you could use a bit of imagination and go by Glen Tilt with a overnight camp or by Glen Fearnach both give good options of longer cycle in.
