Beinn Bhuidhe via Glen Shira

Hi there,

Wondering if anyone knows how far you could get up Glen Shira on a road bike? I've read the path is "good tarmac".

I'm in the area with my road bike and wondered if I could squeeze in a little jaunt up Beinn Bhuidhe if possible. Trying to figure out if it would be quicker by bike up Glen Shira (if possible), or no bike up Glen Fyne (As I don't think a road bike would be suitable?)

The Glen Fyne route is tarmac as far as the bridge at NN228160.

Hi Samantha,

It's been a few years, but I did Beinn Bhuidhe by going up Glen Fyne (on foot, but cycling is fine as far as the point noted above) and down Glen Shira, admittedly by car but my report of the trip may be helpful as I was thinking about what it would be like cycling:

Thanks all, think I'll go up Glen Fyne on the road bike as it sounds like the quickest ascent from there.
