Highlight of 2017 ?

Summit camping on Sgurr na Stri was a total stand out. I had a 20 hours of total solitude, didn't see another human being, and heard nothing other than a distant waterfall and ship's bells while I was up there, and had probably the best view in the UK the whole time.

Climbing Ben Nevis for the first time via the CMD arête.

We left the North Face car park at 1am to catch the sunrise from Carn Mor Dearg. We got to witness a beautiful sunrise plus the arête poking out through the cloud inversion which surrounded us. Also witnessed my first ever Brocken Spectre which was projected onto the side of Nevis, and then were the only people on the summit of the Ben. It’s nice to know that I was the highest person in the UK when I was clambering about on the shelter :)

Walking wise, the day on Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair was probably the highlight of the year, closely followed a few days later by one on Beinn Dearg.

Other adventures included an Easter adventure from Morar to Nevis, Inverie and then Mallaig, with a bunch of under 10 years old, and our big Scandinavian canoe/carry trip from Rogen to Roros, which was one of the best adventures I've ever had.

'twas a good year!

My personal favorite of 2017 was standing atop Skierfe and looking down into and across the Rapa Valley in Sarek NP. The weather that day was amazing and I was rewarded with the most gorgeous views in all possible directions. Such a glorious day.

For Scotland, my fave day was doing the Camban and Bealach na Sgairne circuit. Walking the south side towards Alltbeithe was already great, but when going down Bealach an Sgairne you get rewarded with a spectacular view. Ending the day with random fellow hikers with food & ales at Jac-o-Bite in Ault a'chruinn was the cherry on top.

Didn't get to Scotland this year so my highlight was a trip to Iceland.
