Vintage Climber Magazines

I am not quite sure where to post this, I figured here would get the most traffic....

So I was wondering if there would be much interest in old climber magazines that date back to the late 1950s? Do you think that it would be worth trying to sell them or even if anyone would want to take them off my hands? I am not sure if people are interested in old magazines or not. They are quite interesting to look at from a historical and kind of "look how far we have come" point of view.

If theres any interest I can take pics and put them up here, the oldest one is from about 1958 and they go up to at least the 1990s.

If they don't already have copies, you could also consider donation to write the Mountain Heritage Trust archive (BMC) or the Scottish Mountain Heritage Collection. The former is probably more professional in its outlook but either would be an option.

The 1950s and 1960s ones like Mountaincraft will sell on Ebay to a collector in Australia.
Any early copies of Mountain magazine from issue 1 up to issue 20 you may get up to £10 for on Ebay if you are lucky.Later ones than that about £4 including postage if you find a buyer ,Climber and Rambler and High are probably not worth wasting your time on.
You would be better sending details of them all to Glacier Books in Pitlochry or similar mountaineering specialist bookseller and selling as a job lot if they are interested.
I may be interested in early editions of Mountain if you have any.
Mountain was the best magazine ever and is sadly missed by a lot of folk

I've read a few old ones in huts and so on, it's so frustrating when you see adverts such as "Cottage for sale, four bedroom, large kitchen and large lounge, ideal club hut, Torridon/Isle of Skye/Welsh Mountains/Wherever- £400." And of course the clothing is entertaining; tweed breeches, nailed boots, big woolly jumpers and canvas cagoules.

Used to spend hours reading through old 70s and 80s mags in Gerry's Hostel whilst sitting by the fire. Hugely amusing gear adverts and photos. Suspect most are still there...

As said, Mountain is probably collectable, High and Climber less so. A bunkhouse or hostel might find them interesting for guests rather than chuck them?
