Yes, it is, jmarkb. A very keen Marilyn bagger (though she has done all the Ochils). Never met her, but known by repute.

She is a member of the Relative Hills Facebook page. Thanks meatball, I have quoted it over there.

Seems so. Hopefully, she will be found safe and well. As she seems to be a very experienced mountaineer.

I recognised the name too. That's so sad and awful. I wonder what on earth happened. Could so easily have been any one of us. Thinking of her friends and family.

Very sad, really sorry to hear that and thoughts are with family and friends. Met Alison once at Corrour Station nearly six years ago and we had a chat while waiting for the train. It has been a winter which won't be forgotten.

The BBC at least are relatively restrained. STV and the Alloa paper refer to her being "lost" which is highly unlikely given that she was found near Dumyat Farm and I believe climbed Dumyat almost every day (when she wasn't up something else) and had that huge portfolio of hills behind her.

Condolences to family and friends.

How terribly sad. Clearly a huge lover of the hills and had a lot of experience behind her, having done all the Munro's and Wainwrights and a good deal of Marilyns.

Condolences to her family and friends. Must be an awful time for them! :(
