This is very sad news, I can only assume some illness overtook her. She was very experienced and Dumyat was familiar territory to her, also it is not the kind of place you can get lost or be far from other people, houses and roads. I met Alison a few times on walks, she was on a Meet Up trip to Ailsa Craig a few years ago. She was a nice person; chatty and friendly and she will be sadly missed.

I had assumed that someone so experienced couldn't get lost on what was virtually her back-yard, but Julie Brown writes on the RHB facebook page where Alison often posted

"Can update you on that spoken to her brother this morning it wasn't a fall it was hypothermia. With her vision impairment she got disoriented called for help and somewhere along the line tried to find shelter."

Very very sad. There are people (not hill walkers presumably) on the STV facebook page who started slagging her off before she was found. Equally sad and despicable.

Thank you, lovely people, for your very kind words about Alison. The hill baggers were very fond of her, and we're going to miss her. You support is really nice.

Yes, very sad news. Some impressive hill stats and obviously a great lover of the outdoors like most of us on this site. My thoughts go to her family and friends also, at such a hard time.
