Just an update on Saturday: have just spoken to the skipper and he's a little concerned about the wind, which is due to pick up during the course of Saturday. He wants me to ring back tomorrow (Friday) evening when he should be able to give a confirmation either way.

Might be worth having a backup plan just in case, but I'm still hoping it'll go ahead.

I'll post again tomorrow as soon as I've spoken to him. Fingers crossed...

Forming a plan B will not be a problem - I'll do a Corbett or one of my last 2 Donalds.

He’s probably got a fishing trip lined up at £50 per person 😂.

I’ve heard they can be a bit cautious. From the Met Office though it looks like it might gust a bit later, but general wind speed seemed ok.

Let’s hope he agrees to give it a go 😊

TRIP CANCELLED

Sorry everyone, have just spoken to the skipper again and the wind forecast is too strong for tomorrow - apparently Force 4 is borderline, and it's forecast to get stronger than that. Our late start doesn't help (he has a fishing trip in the morning). :( At least the forecast is good for walking, so it won't be a totally wasted day...

Gutted that it's not going ahead this time, but let's keep momentum going and try to find another date. I'm guessing that weekends are best for most people: the next weekend dates I can do are Sat 2nd and Sat 23rd June.

It's unlikely that either of these will suit everybody, but can you let me know your availability for these dates below (or by PM)? Then (hopefully) I can reschedule.

oh shame!
Can't do either of those other dates as off to Outer Hebs on 2nd and currently working 23rd - though may be able to engineer a swap to 24th if that is the date that is selected.

Oh well! Nothing we could have done about it! (Although is convenient that today and the day after tomorrow are both calm as anything  ) I am away on the 23rd. As again, my timetable will be available each week and is shuffled about randomly it seems. Saturdays likely the least available day but will let you know if I happen to be off :)

What a shame. I am bummed. :(

Can do 02 Jun, but not 23rd.

If anyone has a Plan B for tomorrow, and wouldn't mind some (slowish) company, pls PM me. Was out today and am somewhat knackered, but tomorrow looks sooooo promising!

Nae luck :(

I can do either alternative date. If a weekday had to chosen instead I’d still be interested, although am away during the late May bank holiday week.

I've reclaimed back my holiday day, I should be able to make either date though the 23rd would be better for me :)

Looks like Sat 2nd June is marginally better for most people than Sat 23rd.

I'm going to be away quite a bit next week, and I was wondering whether someone else might be willing to take over organising this one? I can pass on contact names / numbers etc., and my real name so the guy knows it's a rebooking of a previous trip.

Anyone happy to do this?

^^ Further to the above, thought I should say that Lewis, Harris, St Kilda and Great Cumbrae have satisfied my island appetite for this summer so I probably won't be trying to re-organise an Ailsa Craig trip until next year. Though I might still be interested if someone else has a space available!
