Where to go tomorrow?

Where to go tomorrow?

Postby Outnabout » Sun May 06, 2018 12:56 pm

Looking for suggestions for tomorrow please. It will be myself the wife and two kids 10&7. Was looking into doing Ben narnain and Ben ime but was up the cobbler yesterday and visibility was horrendous and reading some of the reports it's quite easy to go off track, I'm not to great with a map, fine in clear weather when I can see landmarks. Would have no problem taking it on myself but not with the kids. So if weather is going to be a bit crap can anyone suggest some good hikes about 6 hours long that can be tackled in poor visibility if need be. Don't mind going as far as Glencoe possibly as far as Perth traveling from Ayrshire. Thanks

I've had a quick look at MWIS forecast and it looks like the weather will be better further south. Maybe try something in Dumfries and Galloway?

Cairnsmore of carsphairn or the Merrick would probably be good options.

Done the Merrick twice in the last couple of months, cairnsmore of carsphairn may be a good shout tho, will have a look at the walk reports. Thanks.

Stob Coire Raineach (Buachaille Etive Beag) it's a great wee walk , think it's only about 5 miles and not that much ascent for the 2 munros

Drove through Glencoe today. Misty this morning and clear by 4pm when I drove back through. Still large pockets of snow on all tops!
