Etrex 20x route name query

Etrex 20x route name query

Postby bob156123 » Wed May 09, 2018 5:08 pm

Hi,

When I transfer .gpx files to my Etrex 20x despite me having given them a name they frequently just show as "New Route", that said some do show with the name just to add to the confusion!

Any suggestions?

Thanks in anticipation, Bob

Are you importing them using the Basecamp app?

No, just doing what it says in the manual and copying & pasting in to the gpx folder

Why not try using easy gps to download/upload gpx tracks ? You can edit the name of the track in the program and that name then shows on your gps (albeit there's a limited number of characters). Don't think your gps will recognise the filename you're giving it on the PC but will recognise the name of the track within easygps - cheers :)

Sounds similar to a problem I had transferring tracks between a Garmin GPSmap60CSx and a program on a laptop. Some did and some did not. The solution was not to use spaces in the file name.
