Can someone please tell me what is the maximum size for including pictures in walk reports. Also, does anybody know of a good free editing programme for photos. All suggestions and help greatly appreciated.

Seems to do the job for me....open up Photo Gallery on windows 10...open up a image file...choose the image that you want to include....Image size smallest etc. then upload the reduced size image through the system on WH.
I guess that there are a multitude of ways to do this using other ways etc.?

I right-click on the photo I want, select "Open with", choose "Paint", in the top left of the "Paint" screen when it opens with your picture there is a "Resize" option, click on that, then reduce the percentage - usually to about 23% or 17%, to get the image down to 640 x 480 or less, then "save as" and give it a title or number, and save it. Then this website can upload it onto your post. Have a nice picture of a castle.

download any one of several free programs, eg I use Image Resizer Powertoy clone.

Then select one or multiple photos using left click and big up arrow above Ctrl button, then right click and select "Resize Pictures"

right click menu.jpg

which gives menu as below

right click resize menu.jpg

and I use custom 690 width for this site which I think is the maximum. This allows easy resizing of multiple photos all at once and you can specify whether to replace originals or create copies (I create copies and keep originals)

Alternatively use an image hosting site like flickr and paste in links - cheers :)

690 pixels across is the maximum size. There's also a maximum height but your image will be automatically scaled if it is too high. I use GIMP to rescale images.

I use Paint - at work I've got a more modern version which lets you scale to a number of pxels, which is nice and saves on sums.

690 pixels across - there's a maximum file size as well, but a jpg at the right size is very unlikely to hit it (someone had a problem recently with png files being too big).

On my Android phone I use Photo & Image Resizer, and on my laptop I use GIMP. I also use Flickr to link to larger images.
