Loch Loyne road to the isles

Loch Loyne road to the isles

I wonder if anyone knows whether the original road to the isles, and its somewhat derelict bridge, has reappeared in Loch Loyne? I know many reservoirs are low at the moment, but as far as I can see the last time the road dried out was 2012. I'd like to walk it to the Cluanie Ridge.

Though I haven't seen it for myself and don't know the present water levels I'm pretty sure one of the two bridges that crosses the river (normally submerged beneath Loch Loyne  if that makes any sense) has collapsed. So even in low water levels the river will still have to be forded.
I always planned cycling that route from the Tomdoun hotel to the Cluanie inn but never got round to it. :(

My wife and daughter seem to be drawn to this area.
First time on a bike trip coming back from Skye in 2005....I think that Mel would have made it but Marif was not not happy to follow with the Bike on the shoulder. So a return to Cluanie and home by the big road.
The second time was May this year just for a look from the South side....could be that the old bridge on the North side has now gone?

Aye, I was looking it up online earlier when we had the long dry spell, can't seem to find it now but it was the north bridge that was in poor nick and that's the one that has supposedly gone.
I'm planning to go up that way at some point this year (from Tomdoun) and have a look for myself and if the level is low enough maybe tie it in with the Corbett across the loch.

Great pictures by the way. Cheers. :D
