The Bothy Code asks people to be considerate and respectful to other users.

That, of course, applies to non-smokers as well ;)

I don't smoke and would prefer if smokers went outside. However from what I gather the chap was quite rude to the guy that lit up. Has to be a bit of come and go between bothy users.

Smoking in bothies, I was staying in Sourlies and a voice asked if I minded it smoking, I ducked under the smoke layer to see who was speaking to me, was it one of the rats that kept you company at night? or some strange apparition that had come in from the cold and wet night outside.
No it was my brother that I hadn't seen since he had lit the fire a couple of hours earlier.
Its all relative isn't it.
