I have just read a report on this walk but it was done with a night camping , so has any one on here done it during the day and how long did it take , I know the majority of people do it from Corrour but that's to much faffing about getting trains , cheers

I did it a couple of years ago, late November if i remember right. We followed the Road to Isles then headed up the nose of Carn Dearg's south ridge, across to Sgor Gaibhre and back out over Beinn Pharlagain. We were 10 hours and came off Pharlagain as it was getting dark, though we had deep snow to contend with for much of the way. You could probably knock 2 hours off that time in frosty, snowless conditions. The walk in/out is about 3 miles on a good track - you could save a lot of time with a bike.

It's been a long time since I did it so can't remember how long it took. It's about 24km and 1200m of ascent if you include Meall na Meoig in the round - as jupe suggests, 8 hours would be a reasonable time if you don't hang about.

I did it this way,

I was just over 8 hours, did the corbett 1st the headed for the 2 Munro's. From memory there weren't any issues except that the corbett is pathless

I remember the nav on Meall na Meoig being mildly challenging in the mist.
I know you were trying to avoid the train but Its worth considering getting the early train from rannoch and walking back over the hills.
