Plans for 2019

Re: Plans for 2019

As it's been roughly 25 hills each of last 2 years .looking for 35 this coming year.not just munros but any size of hills.no set plans as always follow the weather but Beinn dearg 4 Ullapool and the Carn gorm 4 in Perthshire.

Now the aberdeen city bypass is open it makes perthsire a more manageable journey(hate driving) so hopefully visit hills there a few times.

I'd set out to do all the corbetts for my 40th. I'm on 177 so if I'll aim for 200 this year.

53 to go.
If I can get half of these done I'll be more than happy.
Would love to get up north for Foinaven, Suilven, Stac pollaidh... we'll see.
Oh, and to have a clear day in June for my 50th on a summit - mountain gods - be kind

Its a lot further to tackle the Munros for me so its always long weekends with flights to Inverness. Planning some Fannichs, Beann Dearg munros and Ben Wyvis in early May, the Fisherfield 5 and An Teallach in late May. I usually go back up in September but have not decided where to go for that one but fancy the Knoydart munros from Kinlochourn. If I can I will also try to do the Mullardoch 12 in June. Trying to do the harder, longer ones at this stage in my life! Also enrolled on an introductory Winter Course in late Jan/Feb which will hopefully make it a more year round activity and there may be a couple of undone Munros on the course. Best of luck with everyone's plans for 2019.

I'd like to do the South Glen Shiel Ridge, Ben Nevis via the CMD Arete, and The Saddle / Forcan ridge in 2019 ..... plus my map of munros is looking far too red in the south east corner, haven't done a single munro in that area, so I'll need to get out of bed earlier and drive further to get some of those done .... :D

I think it's Corbetts for a second round this year - have 63 in the bag already so 159 to go. Looking forward to planning some nice routes for those in the northwest. And - of course - adding in some Simms to the routes

Would also like to edge closer to a third round of Munros - 84 left. Something for me to do when Allison's indisposed or aweay elsewhere.

Can't decide what the focus of this year's summer holiday should be - it might be the far northwest again (I can never get too much of up there) or it might be islands. We'll see.

Hope to continue the wild camping this coming year - really enjoyed that in 2018.

My fail list for this year:

- Try to compleat (AGAIN) - 57 left
- A'Mhaighdean summit camp (also Sgurr na Stri again if possible)
- A few remote bothies (I fancy getting to the likes of Kinbreac)
- Spend a bit more time on the bike
- Generally get fitter - started running again without my knee exploding which is promising.
- Stand on a summit with Anne again

Probably get a car and finish off the bloody Donalds! Other than that just go up whatever hills I happen to be near - if they're on the list of ones I want to climb then even better :-P Hills excluded, get the uni dissertation out the way and get the career ladder back on the wall, as oppose to providing support for cobwebs in a collapsed, moulding shed.

Best wishes to all for 2019!

There are 25 Nuttalls I haven't done yet. I'm planning to do 24 of them (not bothering with Pillar Rock as I don't think it's worth hiring a guide just to climb something that's not really a hill).
Another 10 Munros would bring the total up to 50.
And I'll probably tick off some more English and Welsh Marilyns, Donalds, P600's and sections of the Wales Coast Path.

the Fannichs + Fionn Bheinn
Ben Slioch
the Fisherfield 6
An Teallach (if there is a way of bypassing the grade 3 stuff)
the Beinn Dearg/Inverlael Forest munros and Seana Bhraigh

Should be doable over a couple of weeks at the end of May/beginning of June.

Yes, you can skirt round the first buttress on its left hand side before re-joining the ridge. Or (not done it) the whole scramble can be bypassed on that side.

My plans for 2019 is to try and get up as many hills as possible. I have my Sundays free as I don't need to take the boy to football now. So I'm hoping this will be a good year for walking..but first thing first is to get up a munro before I'm back to work on Monday...happy walking all and all the best for 2019.

Currently at 201 Munros

Target for 2019 is simply numbers.

Firstly get to 232, then over 240 if I can

Already have 4 weeks booked in Achnasheen, Torridon, Tyndrum & Kyle of Lochalsh, along with long weekends in Kintail & Ft William.

How's that for planning  :D
