And remember: it's not great for you to die of hyperthermia in a blizzard - probably an hour or two of pain; but it's massively worse for those you leave behind, who have weeks, months and years to kick themselves for not hassling you harder to get one of those PLB thingies...

I had a fairly serious accident a few years ago, and seeing what it did to my family caused me to wholly rethink how I did solo walks and climbs.
