As I walk I always have a bit of music in my head.... Steeleye Span at the moment - it sort of helps the rhythm of my stride

I'm a veteran Steeleye fan and have many of their tracks on my ipod for solo walking. I tend to think that folk music, particularly rousing instrumentals, gives you a bit of a boost when the legs start to tire and the spirit flags

This subject came up a while back, due to an honest mistake during a discussion about Quo....

I always think of the half-way point on a walk as the Jovi point, and it's usually accompanied by the appropriate earworm. It appears I'm not the only one.

Other than that I prefer to listen to the solitude and the hills, but often with an internal soundtrack that tends to be either Celtic, especially Lothlorien, or rock (mostly Queen or Van Halen, but not on cliff paths).
