Any wild boar between Hadrians Wall and Edinburgh?

Any wild boar between Hadrians Wall and Edinburgh?

I come from the South of England and in some areas down here we have a bit of an issue with wild boar, most seem to be around Ashdown Forest just south of Tunbridge Wells. I've heard them in the bushes scratching around but have never met one yet. I believe there are lots more in the Forest of Dean, near Gloucester. Do you have any such issues in the rural areas south of Edinburgh, Peebles for example? If I do a bit of wild camping, as I'm sure I will in April, its nice to know these things in advance.

Not that I know off! Though if we did I'd probably go looking...

No reported sightings in the eastern Borders. Most are in Dumfries & Galloway, and a few spots further north: https://www.gbif.org/dataset/a223cea4-1a87-41d9-a876-19b5d8e80510

I've not heard of any problems with Wild Boar in Scotland.

I heard they were introduced in the Great Glen to eat bracken and have been running riot in gardens instead. They are certainly around in parts of Scotland, Glean Pean for one I think?

You might encounter a few wild bores though.
