Samuels Smile is a charity run by a young man based in Glasgow. Samuel was born with Total Intestinal Hirschsprungs Disease which means he can not eat. At the age of 16 he started his own charity to help kids in Scotland who suffer from rare diseases "Samuels Smile".

Even although life is a daily struggle with his own procedures and time spent in hospital he still makes time for other kids, being there for them, hospital visits, day's out, parties and functions etc

Samuel loves Scotland and its Mountains although to this day (He Is 22yrs Old) due to his condition he has been unable to stand on a summit with us which is his dream. Myself and some friends I climb with have been working with him for a number of years now and every year we pick a different Munro and lead a group of fundraisers to the summit to raise money for his charity. He meets everybody at the starting point on the day, laughs and chats and is still there at the end of the day handing out T-shirts, medals, cake & juice to all who take part. Its always a fun relaxed day and this years event will be no different.

June 15th we will be hiking up Beinn Narnain and was hoping to make it a special one this year by hopefully increasing the number of fundraisers involved. If you are free that day and would like to do what we all love (Summit A Munro) why not go to his web site and register on the events page, support a fantastic children's charity and help put a smile on their faces. It would be nice to show him how much our Hill/Mountain community cares.

Thanks for taking the time to read this

George
