Glen Etive

Glen Etive

Does anyone have a sense of when the hydro works will start in Glen Etive? I'd imagine this will impose significant upheaval / restriction to access and also parking around Coiletir.

I have the same question - I'm considering visiting the glen in early September.

Worrying article about Glen Etive, you would have though all this would be considered before approval was granted. Seems no one wants to address the details beforehand these days....

Does anyone know if the Glen Etive will be closed for any period of time? I find it hard to see how a hydro scheme of this magnitude can be implemented without a disruption to access down a single track road.

I'm sure you'll be fine to be honest, any closures are usually well publicised on here and other sources like Mountaineering Scotland.

We've just returned from a week at Glenceitlein cottage. Was chatting to a local and he said early 2020. We were going to book again for May next year and its unavailable from 16th May to 2nd June (Just when we wanted it!!).I think this maybe when they are shutting the track at Coileitir which accesses the cottage and Starav etc.
