Nowthen!
It seems that on Friday I can get from my home in Yorkshire to Ardlui at 13:52, train-gods willing, and there's another train back to Garelochhead, where I'm staying, at 19:52 from Ardlui, so I have precisely six hours. The question is whether this is enough time for me to get up Ben Vorlich...
I suspect that it might be, and I see a report posting that suggests six hours is just about right. Would people concur with that?
I would say I am "about averagely" fit; for example on Saturday I did Ben Klibreck and the surrounding areas, on a walk which came to about 23km, and I averaged 2.5km/h gross of stops, or 3.5km/h net, or so my GPS thinks.
Any views would be very welcome! As of course would any suggestions as to routes.
By the way, it's not life-or-death for me to catch that train - if I had a serious problem there is another one a bit over two hours later, but I wouldn't want to plan to take that, not least as it would hugely annoy my B&B proprietor, I suspect!
Thanks a lot in anticipation...
