Saw this earlier, fingers crossed they can locate the bird and remove what's tangled in its talons.

Looks like a pole trap! I hope the feckers who set the trap get jailed!

Saddened and angry to see this! The poor bird will probably starve to death.

I'd urge everyone to sign the new ban grouse shooting petition that's going around.

Hope the bird is found and helped but I can't see it ending well.

I agree those responsible should be jailed but even if they are found(which is unlikely), tried and found guilty the chances of a custodial sentence are slim.

There was a case a few weeks ago of someone who worked for a hunt and gave live fox cubs to hounds getting a suspended sentence. A reason given by the judge was that a custodial sentence would lead to him losing his home.

This sickens me. Really does. Just makes my blood boil. I'd happily support the mandatory jailing of the people who commit wildlife crime such as this.

The Scottish Government is due to receive a report very soon from The Grouse Moor Management Group it set up. Their interim findings say they've found "compelling and shocking" evidence of instances of raptor persecution. Strangely these beautiful animals almost always disappear over Grouse moors.

Strange that, eh?

Look forward to reading that report.

It's high time these rogue estates were hit where it hurts them the most.there greedy pockets.

Tragic and infuriating. What kind of miserable excuse of a human being does this kind of thing?

Can you provide a link to the petition? I hate to restrict people's hobby, but I just don't see the sense in grouse shooting and it causes a lot of environmental damage.

No need to ban all grouse shooting. It's driven shooting which causes the problems. Most of them would disappear with walk-up shooting, which is already happening on some of the more enlightened estates:
