Really enjoyed that. Made of stern stuff those Victorian girls.

Excellent, very entertaining, and a great insight into the people and behaviour of the time.

That's a brillant find. Extremely interesting reading. I have been on the Ben often and find it a bit sad to see the old observatory in such disrepair and often wondered what it would have been like. That was a great insight even though only one persons view or memory. I sometimes wish it could be restored to its former glory but it's not really an option. What a hotel that would be today, though I'm sure others would disagree.
Great stuff - cheers. :D

Though if they put a roof on it, sealed it up and (somehow!) installed toilets I'd be well pleased, at the moment it's a sewer.

What a great find! "Dora and Agnes disdained help and got up entirely by their own exertions" is a sentence which doesn't feature anywhere near often enough in WalkHighlands walk reports

Excellent. Cheers for putting that up.

Hillwalking blogs would be a lot more entertaining if that was the standard of writing.

A great read!

I saw an exhibition partly to do with William MacGillivray recently. He apparently walked from Aberdeen to his home on the Western Isles every summer when a student and also walked from Aberdeen to London via Ben Nevis.
