No hills! Celebrate the flat!

From my cycle ride this morning. A celebration of flatness. 😁

Yes, flattish Charles, but maybe you could do better.

This is illusory, I am told by golfers that there are immense undulations, but looks flat to me

Though maybe not as flat as this

Not much flat land from my neck of the woods unfortunately...

If my phone camera had a wide angle lens I could have provided a fuller picture of much flatness. However, you have thrown down the gauntlet and I shall seek greater flatness to regale you with.

Let not this be a hindrance to others though in their quest for flatness with which to brighten these home bound days.

(and I wouldn't be believing much a golfer might tell you)

Never mind flatness as an opposite to hills, how about depths? I have visited the Dead Sea in Jordan, which is 400ft below sea level. Beat that !

The one really good thing about flat places is the amount of room for the sky. (Pictures from my coastal wanderings in the last couple of Christmas holidays.)

I should have known it would be you who plumbed the depths! 🙄

Living in Norfolk may give me something of an advantage.

Though it's not really flat, just look at those majestic ridge-lines, and plunging abysses from a beetle's perspective. And I'm not in Fenland either, we have these things called contour lines here.

Imitation is the best form of flat-tery?

Flat-tery will get you (feeling like) nowhere.

Where I grew up there was a single hill on my way to school. Felt like Everest.

It used to kill our legs going up it. We bombed down it back home from school.

Here is the hill on an OS map:

It's about 13 metres high.

When I was a child we had a hill a bit like that going to the left off a road I had to walk along. I had such bad fear of heights then that I used to cross the road to avoid walking across it and plunging down to my death. Took husband a while to cure me.

The Dead Sea is over 400 meters (not feet) below sea level, and it is impossible to beat that without going underground or underwater, as it is the lowest (land) point on Earth.
