Overnight camp

Overnight camp

Postby gammy leg walker » Mon Aug 03, 2020 12:18 pm

Has anyone here camped at Port na Murrach beach near Arisaig. From what I can see there looks to be a few areas in the “ Machar “ where it’s possible.

Also wondering how busy this area might be with all the so called “ wild campers “ about

Thanks GLW

Is that not the place they sacrifice tent dwellers to the Wickerman?

Hi GLW,

I've camped at Port nam Murrach many times - but gave up using the place several years ago except in winter as it gets too busy. There will be plenty others there, and numerous kayak companies use it for camping. The landowner put cattle on it a couple of years ago to deter some of the numbers camping, but it didn't do much to reduce the use.

This might help.... http://mountainandseascotland.blogspot.com/2019/07/home-run.html. If you want a couple of recommendations for quieter but still stunning spots in that area, drop me a PM

Kind Regards

Ian
