Hi - just joined. Looking forward to getting out in the Highlands. In Glasgow - moved here two years ago from down south. My wife and I visited a lot of the Trossachs and Highlands - for photography mainly. Her illness prevented anything strenuous. Sadly, she has passed away, so I'm looking forward to raising my heights and enjoying more of this wonderful part of the planet - with camera and dog.

I was a rock climber and sort of mountaineer in my long lost youth - Sgurr Alasdair and the Cuillin ridge ignited my love of Scotland.

Hi Andy, sorry to hear about your wife and I hope your coping. I have always found the outdoors very cathartic and hopefully you will too. If you feel the need to get out and about and want some company put a wee post up and see what happens.

Take care

hi Calum - thanks for your reply

The memories sat atop the Cuillins and places in the Peak District linger long and strong. I expect to join a club and take a hill skills course with a nice bloke Dave I've been in touch with.

Trip to Tiso is first on the agenda
