Hi Ami

welcome! This site is a great resource - anything you need to know, jsut ask on the Forums and someone will probably know the answer.

Hope you and your son have a great time on the WHW. October is a beautiful time to be in the Highlands.

October is a good choice. The midgies will likely have died off but clear autumnal days have plenty of sunshine. Listen out for stags bellowing and roaring on the hillsides.
