Hello folks

Hello folks

Postby Ann Young » Sun Aug 30, 2009 10:42 pm

I'm stuck at home with a broken wrist at present after a wee mishap in N.W Sutherland 3 weeks ago, hope to be fit for my wanders in 6 weeks or so. I am missing getting out to the wild places and thought I'd check this site out, I'm more of a stravaiger than a hillwalker (don't do heights very well) but I hope nobody minds that.

I certainly don't mind that! Hello and welcome to the site from a long-standing mountain coward! I enjoy the mountains but am very fussy about what route I take!

Thanks, I'm glad there's someone who understands how I feel. I prefer bothy trips and wild camping but do enjoy looking at the hills from a safe distance. :)

Maybe so, but in 5 or 6 weeks I'll be able to get a lot closer. Not allowed to drive yet due to the cast on my arm so if it wasn't for sites like this I'd be going stir crazy!

Well Ann, good luck with your cast, any ideas where you're going in 6 weeks?

I'll be heading up to Sandwood Bay as soon as I'm fit, maybe even a wee trip to Torridon and/or Strathcarron.

Thanks for all the welcome messages, I'm heading up to KLB tomorrow with my nephew to rescue my car so at least I'll be able to see the hills on my way there and back even if I can't get among them yet :D

Ahem... it'll be quite painless, given enough rum, and a fast action by a capable ship's barber~surgeon with a sharp amputation knife...
