Hi, I'm a newbie, wanted to register as coming to Scotland for 1st time in Summer (so long overdue - but booked at last)
Staying in Glen nevis, keen on walking & photography (wanted to do Ben Nevis, but have 10yr old - who is totally fearless & wants to climb Mt. Everest !, but doesn't want to do mountain track - any advice?) We live nr Peak District in England & have experience - but obviously they are more like mole hills around here

Oh almost forgot - I do suffer from a very strange form of vertigo - inconsistent as sometimes brings me to my knees on the silliest of hills & other times I can overlook huge drops with no probs - anyone have a similiar affliction ?

Yep - I'm exactly the same except have vertigo more often than not. I sometimes 'flip' though and can do really difficult, narrow, scary, steep, whatever stuff without flinching - odd! I do seem to have a total dislike of having to descend very, very steep slopes - even ones without any other problem than steepness. I think I fear I will go head over heels and somersault uncontrollably down the mountain or suchlike. To be honest, it's not that uncommon a fear but may be on here I suppose.
