Record Breaker

Does anyone know who has the record for taking the longest time to complete the munros? Hamish Brown always said you could spend a few months doing them or it could be a lifetime achievement. I started with Ben Lomond I'm 1972 and still have 29 to go. At my current recently accelerated average of 15 per year I should finish in 2020.

Will I hold the record then or does anyone know of a slower competitor?

Looks as if nobody does. You beat my husband anyway. He did his first in 1966 and finished in 2003 and always thought his was a fairly leisurely round (Interrupted by me joining him in the 1990s and having to start all over again on the hills I didn't want to solo).
I think the fastest is Stephen Pyke in 39 days and 9 hours.
Youngest USED to be the McCheyne twins finished while they were still 10, but I think a boy has taken over from them . They are now applying for Uni. Time flies.

I believe 69 years may be the longest.
