Hello!

What a nice website. It contains a lot of info about Scotland, I'm using it a lot for our next adventure.
The map is incredible, the opportunity to see the routes directly on the map is a top detail. We are glad to the developers for that.

As I said, we are three guys, Carlos, Pablo and me, Leo. We love to ride along the best landscapes with our enduro bikes. We were in Iceland in our last trip going along the Laugavegur trail and more with our bikes and totally self-supported. If somebody knows this trail you will have an idea what are we searching for in Scotland :D As more technical is the trail, happier we are.

Happy trails to everybody!

Hi Lads,

most of the highland trails, as the laugaveur trail, are hiking routes, rather than bike routes, but they can be cycled, you just need to be considerate of the other trail users.

The west highland way is one of the key trails, not sure if is longer than the icelandic one, but it will probably be higher, and if you fancy it, you can also cycle up Ben nevis at the end of the trail. He's a link to a cycle review of the trail https://www.cyclinguk.org/cycle/great-rides-highland-crossing

There are quite a few long distance trails in Scotland have a research through here to try to find the length and height you are looking for https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/long-distance-routes.shtml

Have a look at http://www.mtbtrails.info/Trail_main_page.aspx website.

My mate is a VERY keen enduro rider and uses the above for his mtb stuff the way folk on here use the website for their walking.

There you will find all sorts trails with technical description and all the other info you guys need.

Enjoy :)

P.S. Have a look at Torridon area on the other website, as there are some epic trails there. My mate's absolute favourite area for enduro MTB. Just note that none of the trails are MTB specific. They make use of existing walking paths. Not likely to be busy, though.

When in the highlands you must visit the old battle site of Glen Shiel, where Spanish troops helped the Jacobites but were defeated when British Royal Navy ships arrived and spoiled everything. There is a hill called Sgurr nan Spainteach (Peak of the Spaniards) because of them. https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/glenshiel/battle/index.html
