Saying hallo

Hi y'all

An old bu&&£r domiciled on the Black Isle returning to walking as he approaches an early retirement.
Done a fair bit of walking around the Highlands and now planning on doing a bit more. Retirement is mid Feb. Planning on doing a circumnavigation of Loch Ness and walking home afterwards - when the clocks go forward - and sleeping out. Driven over the Kessock Bridge so many time but never walked it.
Veteran of a couple of TGOC before my shift pattern was changed and I could get the days required off.
Planning on solo walking for now as I find it more satisfying to go where I want, when I want, but not antisocial at all - it's just if I want to go when I wake up I can. Looking forward to mining this site for info. I will post too!

Retirement is great. Did all the Munros before retirement at 67, but did approx 60% of Grahams and Corbetts since, and probably a greater % of the rest. Welcome to the site and to OAPdom and hope you enjoy retirement as much as me.

Happy solo wanderings! I wish I could retire early - the earlier the better. To adapt a phrase of Oscar Wilde's, work is the curse of the walking classes!
