West Highland way.. Wild camp locations

Hi all..I'm totally new on here.just came across the site on a Google search.
So..my plan is to backpack wild camp the west Highland way in September.
A few questions..
What's the parking like at the start of the walk. Do you just leave you car on the road in Milngavie..?
Also what's the situation with the midges in September.
And to keep my pack weight minimal I'm not taking cooking gear..is there enough places to keep stocked up with food.
I'm taking a sawyer mini for water.
Oh and is it easy to get the train back.
Thanks for your help. It will be my first Scottish long distance path so any tips will be muchly appreciated.

There is plenty parking near the start of the WHW. Just check the parking restrictions, if any, in the street you intend parking in.
The midges are usually away/waning by September but it largely depends on weather conditions. So precautions advisable.
There are a few places to stock up on food, but when camping I like some hot food drinks.
There is a good bus/train service from Fort William to Glasgow. Getting to Milngavie might be a wee bit tricky but doable.

If you know the day you are coming back try and book your rail ticket from Fort William in advance. You may well get it considerably cheaper.

Also the train arrives from Fort William railway station into Glasgow Queen Street station. The train to Milngavie is from Glasgow Central, it is only about a 5 min walk away. Be advised though this is a low level train (Glasgow Central to Milngavie) but the service is very regular, every 30 mins or so.

There are plenty of places to eat, re-stock on WHW. I think someone once told me you are never more than 12 miles from a pub/shop. I think the final stretch from Kinlochleven to Fort William is the most remotest.

The midges should not be too bad at that time of year.

If you don't take the train there is also a bus service from Fort William to Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station. Personally though I would advise the train. It is a truly stunning journey.
