Hello - searching walking group

Postby Aimee_P » Mon Jun 17, 2019 12:29 pm

Hi,

I'm fairly new to the highlands and love the outdoors and walking, I would love to find some walking groups to join or even a fellow walker to meet and share the beautiful scenery with and meet some new people and make some friends. Can anyone recommend a walking group to me I am based in the Sutherland area not too far from Dornoch.
Aimee :)

If you go to Mountaineering Scotland and use their feature "Find a Club" you might find one. Nearest to you seems to be the Caithness one, but, as they explain, there aren't many mountains in Caithness, so they end up nearby, which could suit

There are others, it depends how far you want to travel.

Maybe this one? https://www.dornoch.org.uk/sutherland-walkers.asp
Might at least get you some local contacts.

Hi Aimee, I'm in a similar situation. I'm living in Dingwall.
I do like going for hikes on my own but would be nice to have some company sometimes.
I did the mountain trail at Beinn Eighe yesterday, was tough but amazing!

Hi Mark,

Apologies I've only just seen your reply, if you'd ever like to message and maybe meet sometime let me know, I normally go walking by myself ... Love the peace and quiet but am exactly the same every now and again a bit of company would be good 😊
