Parking at Layby on minor road off A591 at Highside Farm NY236309 (Alternatively start at Peter House Farm but likely to be busier)

Great view looking back at start of walk over Bass Lake

The track heading east from Peter House Farm is good and has interesting views of Cock Up and Dash Beck waterfalls

The climb up Birketts Edge is the hardest of the walk, a good midway point reached at Bakestall

And onward to Skiddaw

The route down can be tricky and the path is easily lost, I've done it lots of times but would still be wary about doing it in cloud even with my GPS
